Support
I have had lots of words of support today, for which I thank you all. In the interests of security, I will not name any of you, but here are some of the comments received...
I think he forgot he was linked to worked and his true colours came out. Homophobic.
His comments were so offensive i was shocked. I thought maybe u knew him as they were so personal.
He seems a bit of an ass :-)
You put the arsey reporter back in his place.
You should sue him.
Totally out of order, and on a public forum as well!
I am just not happy about what he said.

Apology
Dear Steve Dixon,
I did not mean to offend you personally. You expressed an opinion about a TV program which I did not agree with, and so did I. You also made personal comments about a presenter on that show, which were not nice and were rather offensive.
I still stand by my opinion of Sky News, as does your one supporter "Not wrong for long". I have not listed my supporters yet, as they are too many.
History has documented the number of times that Sky News over report incidents, only to down grade the, later. Almost scaremongering at times.
You should not have resorted to personal abuse that has caused offence, which could be seen in violation of UK hate laws.
I am awaiting a response from Sky News, which I will post here when they deal with it. I will also happily post any comments that you may have to make.
Fundamentally, you said that "If you don´t like it don´t watch", but had you have applied that to your original view of Loose Women, which is nominated once more for Best Daytime TV Show, then this difference of opinion would never have happened.
Like it or not, your role as a journalist MUST be impartial, and in that, you failed.
You were totally out of order to make the personal remarks towards me that you did, and that is why I am pursuing this matter. There are hate laws in place in the UK, which cover such statements that you made. How dare you make such assumptions of me, especially in such an independent and public way.
I am yet to decide on my final course of action, dependant on the response I get from you personally and your employers.
I reiterate that I made NO personal comments about you, but you made personal and defamatory statements towards me.
I am sending you a link to this page on Twitter, but if you have blocked me, then you will not see it, so I will also send it to a number of other sources to try to ensure that you get it.
Then, you can consider your actions, and an apology as public as your deformation.
Regards,
Mark A Nolan

Hi,
Can you confirm if your policy is that it is acceptable for your presenters to make homophobic and defamatory remarks?
I consider it unnacceptable personally, but I would like to consider your corporate opinion before I decide my actions regarding comments that Steve Dixon made, when he said on a public internet forum that "Who said queens were losing their edge! You two old Mary's have got it in spades !" just because I did not agree with a public comment he made criticizing another TV program.
That is a defamatory statement, to which there was no evidence of my sexuality presented, and could be perceived as an invasion of my privacy.
I admit that I was critical of Sky News, which I stand by, but I do not accept that my opinion of your service warrants a personal attack. My opinion has been supported by the may people I have since discussed this with, hence my enquiry to you.
He had also said that If I did not like Sky News, then I shouldn´t watch, but then the same ought to apply for the program he was criticizing!
I await your comments.
Regards,
Mark A Nolan.

From @dixonst:
@Mark_A_Nolan if you like it mark then great, but dont compare hard news to someone talking about their sex life with a toy boy fiance.
From: @Mark_A_Nolan:
@dixonst Sky News and hard news do NOT go together! How often you you guys get it wrong. You are not known as Speculation News for nothing.

@dixonst How many buses blew up in London on 7/7? (Check VT), I could go on. Hard news for the Sun reader maybe :-)
From @dixonst:
@Mark_A_Nolan thats just nonsense. Where do you think we get the news from? PA, AP, Reu, AFP, the same sources as BBC and everywhere else
From @dixonst:
@Mark_A_Nolan on 7/7 we, along with everyone else, were told there had been other buses go. Cops told us and beeb and we all ran with it
From: @torreviejalads:

From @dixonst:
@Mark_A_Nolan if you dont like it, dont watch, but youclearly have no idea what youre on about
From: @Mark_A_Nolan:

@dixonst That was quite a spat with @Mark_A_Nolan! As you know I love Sky News...I much prefer it to the BBC...and think you do a great...
From @mathewhulbert:
@dixonst ...but I must admit at work it's a running joke that Sky News is 'not wrong for long.' I guess it comes with wanting to be...
From @mathewhulbert:
@dixonst ...first with the news, which is perfectly laudable, of course.
From @mathewhulbert:
@dixonst But I think Sky News is far more inovative than the BBC and presents the news in a much more exciting way.
From @dixonst:
@mathewhulbert it annoys me very much. we work to the very highest of standards. his views just arent accurate. i give up!
